These courses foster scriptural literacy, ethical reflection, and spiritual formation consistent with Juneteenth Intercontinental University’s commitment to covenant-informed, liberation-centered education.

Assessment and Continuous Improvement

General Education learning outcomes are assessed through course-embedded assignments, program-level evaluations, and institutional assessment processes. Each academic department participates in the evaluation of General Education outcomes as they are demonstrated within major courses, ensuring continuous improvement and academic integrity.

I. GE MAPPING LOGIC (JIU PHILOSOPHY)

At JIU, General Education is not generic.
It is:

  • Liberatory (identity, freedom, historical consciousness)

  • Interdisciplinary (faith, history, science, society)

  • Scaffolded (GE courses intentionally support majors)

  • Mission-aligned (Hebrew Scriptures, spirituality, justice)

Thus, GE courses do double duty:

  • Fulfill university-wide learning outcomes

  • Prepare students for disciplinary success in their majors

V. NEXT STEPS (I CAN HELP WITH)
  1. Create a GE-to-Major matrix (one-page accreditation table)

  2. Write official catalog language

  3. Design sample 4-year degree maps

  4. Align GE learning outcomes with institutional outcomes

  5. Prepare documents for provincial / accrediting bodies

If you want, tell me which major JIU wants to launch first, and I’ll build the full degree map (GE + major + electives) ready for publication.

Below is a one-page, accreditation-ready GE-to-Major Matrix designed for Juneteenth Intercontinental University (JIU).
This format is aligned with what accreditors, quality assurance reviewers, and ministry/education councils expect to see: clear mapping, outcomes alignment, and curricular coherence.

General Education → Major Alignment Matrix (60-Credit GE Core)

Institutional Notes for Accreditation Review

  • All undergraduate majors share the same 60-credit GE core, ensuring institutional coherence.

  • GE courses are not duplicated in major requirements unless designated as prerequisites.

  • Writing-intensive, ethical, global, and spiritual competencies are intentionally embedded across disciplines.

  • SPIR 1010 and BIBL 1010 function as mission-distinctive GE courses, supporting JIU’s faith-integrated educational model.

  • The matrix supports outcomes-based assessment, allowing each program to measure GE competencies within disciplinary contexts.

If you want, next I can:

  • Convert this into official catalog language

  • Align it with Canadian (CMEC) or U.S. regional accreditation standards

  • Produce program learning outcome (PLO) → GE outcome maps

  • Design 4-year degree plans for each major

Just tell me the next step.

Predict the future by creating it

Excellent—below is a clear, accreditation-ready mapping of the 60-credit General Education (GE) core to specific majors at Juneteenth Intercontinental University (JIU).
This is written so it can serve three purposes at once:

  1. Curriculum design (internal faculty use)

  2. Accreditation & regulatory review

  3. Student-facing clarity (catalog & advising)

I will first give the mapping logic, then a major-by-major table, and finally strategic notes for JIU’s mission.
