JUNETEENTH AT A GLANCE
"Juneteenth Intercontinental University" can be a great translation for "Intercontinental Liberation University", which suggests that the institution dedicates itself to the promotion of education and freedom in the academic world, with an emphasis on empowering underrepresented communities.
"Juneteenth" is an American term that began on June 19, 1865, when Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce the emancipation of all the state's slaves. It later became an important date in the African-American community, celebrating freedom and liberation. The choice of the word 'Juneteenth' evokes the spirit of freedom and resilience. This name is a powerful reminder of the importance of freedom and equality for all.

JIU SHIELDS NAMING
Juneteenth Intercontinental University is named after the holiday Juneteenth, which celebrates the end of legal slavery in the United States. The founder of our university wanted to recognize this important day and use it as a symbol of our commitment to education and social justice. Our university's name honors the hard-fought freedom of African Americans and serves as a reminder of the importance of education and opportunity for all. It is our hope that our name will inspire students to strive for excellence and to recognize the power of education to create positive change in our world.
